Ella Tunis (b. 2002 in Rochester, NY) is an American photographer based in Rochester, New York. She received her BFA in Film, Photography, and Visual Arts from Ithaca College in 2023 and her MFA in Photography and Related Media from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2025. Ella’s photographs, videos, and writing pieces center around notions of femininity, violence, and performance. She works with darkroom and digital processes for her pieces. Ella’s work has been shown at the: William Harris Gallery (Rochester, NY) the Handwerker Gallery (Ithaca, NY), The State Theater (Ithaca, NY), The Colorado Photographic Arts Center (Denver, CO) and the Roxbury Arts Center (Roxbury, NY).
